Protecting the city of Konstanz
The Imperia in the port of Constance is also worth seeing in winter. At low temperatures and with a strong northeast wind, the distances can be maintained well during Corona.
Very impressive, then beautiful the statue that rotates on itself

Nice view of the lake, nicely made statue. Unfortunately a bit full now and then and it's hard to get out of your way. The stickers behind the Imperia stimulate wit and thought.
A very interesting lady. Googling a little is worth it. If the lady really existed, then a journey through time would be worthwhile. Definitely worth a detour if you are in Konstanz.
It is magnificent. A must-see place!! The surrounding park is very beautiful.
What surprised me was the statue was spinning!
Great figure by Peter Lenk. I like it very much.
An interesting and unique rotating statue. Has become kind of an icon to Konstanz and is visited by many tourists.
Empire (German "Die Imperia") is a nine-meter statue, weighing 18 tons, installed in 1993. The statue rotates, making a complete revolution in 4 minutes. The statue depicts a courtesan holding tiny naked men in her arms raised. On the figurine of a man in the right hand of the plaque is a crown and he is holding the symbol of power ("German" Reichsapfel "), on the figurine in the left hand is a papal tiara. This concrete statue reminds us with irony of the Constantine Cathedral. (The Council of Constance is the 16th Ecumenical Council, held in the city of Constance in the complex of buildings of the local cathedral. Convened by Pope John XXIII at the insistence of the German emperor Sigismund. It was held from November 16, 1414 to April 22, 1418. The main task of the cathedral was to end church schism.) Church schism (or the Great Western Schism) is a schism in the Roman Church in 1378-1417, when two (and since 1409 - three) applicants declared themselves true popes. The schism in the church occurred after the death of Pope Gregory XI in 1378.
Easy to find when you take a pedal boat out, it is very exhausting but interesting to see everything from the water
Courageously designed statue, with a serious historical background. Nice vantage point over the harbor and Lake Constance
One of the most popular tourist spots in Konstanz! This statue of a lady holding two historical figures and installed on a rotating pedestal does catch the eye! The area around holds the harbour port and offers spectacular views of the lake and the Alps at the horizon. A very nice place to walk through and sit during any time of the day. Highly recommended!
This monument is really beautiful. One very in particular since it is revolving, in addition to being the icon of the city of Constanza it is really admirable, you can see it from different angles of the port and it fills you with excitement as you get closer and closer and see how it turns from its base.
Beautiful seaside to take a walk. They also put up a statue, you can't go just to see it. If your way falls, stop by
Constance is simply part of my vacation on Lake Constance. Nice promenade. Multi cultural You have to see the old town. Always my pleasure
Not just because of the statue, but a nice place to take a walk, by the lake and with plenty of cafés and small boutiques
Everything is perfect here for family fun except for little rubbish bins. Still gladly again ... 👌👌👍👍
A little bit underwhelming but still a nice photo op with views of the lake and the boats.
The Imperia statue is located at the entrance to Konstanz Bay, on the shores of picturesque Lake Constance. The statue rotates around its axis once every four minutes. The hands of this statue are raised. In one hand sits an angel, and in the other a servant of the devil. A beautiful promenade for walks with family, friends or a loved one.
Beautiful statue on a very nice city by the lake
Easy to find and there was little going on today. It is very nice to run there and see this. Water is good mood and something for the eye.
Bodenzi - azure clear water. On a clear day, the Alps are visible. Statue of Constance - a symbol of the city. The city of two states - Switzerland on the right, Germany on the left))
One of the most beautiful place at Konstanz. It's a place of complete delight to your eyes. Surrounded with lake , the statue of Imperia keeps on rotating and you actually need to wait to for turn your side if you want to picture in front of statue. We went by the end of summer and it was a great experience 😊. Clicked many photos which is shared here.
Much much better than I expected. We came here in a winter and it was very cold everywhere. But this statue brought warmth into my heart.
the statue symbol that is always turned at the entrance to the port
It was a good day while we went to visit the Imperia with my friends. The amazing thing was the whole statu was turning 😅so you should wait to her face to be able to catch a photo. It was really amazing and we laughed with taking commid photos.
Super beautiful. This was a real treat to visit and explore.
Ironic Majestic Politically eccentric revolutionary imposing Anarchist with a wink much better. Meaningful art.
This statue will rotate.
The statue is interesting to see, a woman holding a Pope and a king. It rotates around. There's many tourists there. The surrounding area is great to take pictures. It's beautiful when the weather is nice.
Good place for good pictures! The statue Imperia it's spining around.
